Act on Camera is an 8-week course designed to introduce actors to the unique skills and techniques required for film and television. Designed for those with limited experience on camera, this program provides a supportive and dynamic environment for learning the craft. Ideal for actors with experience in the theatre, improv, voice work, aspiring film/tv actors and directors looking to better understand the work of actors.
Act on Camera est un cours d’introduction de 8 semaines aux techniques du jeu devant la caméra pour le cinéma et la télé. Il offre un cadre dynamique et accessible aux comédien·ne·s de théâtre, improvisateur·trice·s et créateurs·trices qui souhaitent explorer le travail à l’écran.

Un cours multilingue
L’enseignement pour Act On Camera se déroulera principalement en anglais et français. Votre coach parle également l’espagnol, et accueille avec plaisir des participants de toutes origines linguistiques. Il y aura des occasions pour les acteurs de préparer et de présenter leur travail dans leur langue première lors des exercices devant la caméra. Cette approche reflète le caractère multilingue de notre région et valorise les voix uniques que chaque acteur apporte à l’écran.
Instruction for Act On Camera is a bilingual course. While mostly in English and French, your coach also speaks Spanish and welcomes participants from all language backgrounds. There will be opportunities for actors to prepare and present work in their primary language during on-camera exercises. This approach reflects the multilingual character of our region and values the unique voices each actor brings to the screen.
Benj Tabah graduated from the acting program at York University, training alongside actors such as Rachel McAdams, Ennis Esmer, and Zoie Palmer, and with professors David Rotenberg and David Smukler. At 24, he produced and directed a feature film, and has since worked across film, theatre, and television as a director, actor, writer, and producer. Benj recently co-taught an on-camera acting class at Bishop’s University.
